About Us
This is a small chapel in the village of Coniston, a residential and tourist area and we are pleased to welcome a good number of visitors to the church. We try to give all visitors a warm welcome and we believe that we are successful in this.  One couple even told us that after 50 years of worshipping in Methodist churches ours was the warmest welcome they had ever received!

Sunday Service

Most Sunday services include a “Coniston Spot,” a short contribution by a member of the congregation on the current theme – we have covered places and people in the Old and New Testaments and many other subjects.

We have a monthly Fellowship Meeting and a monthly meeting of members as “Church Concern”: this is a prayer meeting to think about members of the church and people in the village and to pray for and contact those in need.

In recent years, we have refurbished the church premises in order to ensure a comfortable, warm, building in which to worship and welcome visitors. Even the care afforded to our small garden has encouraged visitors to come and worship with us.

The church has wheelchair (and pram) access, a hearing loop system and large print hymn books for those members of the congregation who wish to use these facilities.
The church has a membership of 23 people and that is the number we usually have in our congregation (members and visitors).

We are enthusiastic about working and worshipping with other churches (Anglican, Roman Catholic and Christian Fellowship) in the village. This is developed through Christians Together in Coniston. In the month of August, we hold open air services in the centre of the village on Sunday evenings.

Outdoor Worship Worship Outdoors

On a wider field we have developed a special link with Wesley Church in Mandalay, Burma, cemented by a number of visits over the years in both directions. We also share actively in the Circuit’s exchanges with the Methodist Church in Estonia.
